Aram Grigorian

Aram Grigorian originated from Monterey Park, California. He completed his Bachelor of Science and a Minor in ceramics from the University of Colorado, Boulder. Post graduation, he worked as an organic chemist for a pharmaceutical manufacture. Once he realized the industrial application of biochemistry is ultimately a futile and soulless existence, Aram redirected his attention towards his secondary field of study, ceramics.

He began working and teaching in various ceramic studios throughout Los Angeles. All feelings of purposelessness, misery, existential dread, and stress were alleviated instantly from his career transition. Now, within his tranquil psyche exists a singular thought, to master the medium he has developed an obsession towards.

Aram has since moved from Los Angeles to Cathedral City, where his mind is freed from the constant distractions and looming stresses that plague the minds of many of whom exist in heavily populated environments. It is here where Aram is able to dedicate his complete being towards the conception of his ceramic works.

Pursuit of perfection in technical execution and hyper fixation on form are unconditional standards that all work must obeyed by. Comes then the delicate process of aesthetic considerations of which serve the purpose of birthing life into the work. The final product must communicate the ethos of its creator, derived from the physical and intellectual strain ex experienced, in order to be considered complete. If deemed by the creator to not be so, the work is dried, pulverized, and dissolved into a slurry of its base components to be used in the creation of its potential successor.
