This latest body of work addresses my curiosity with personal secrets.
I believe all of us have secrets that we wish we could share with others….but we hold back.
In this work, I am playing with the “push me/pull you” effect of personal story telling i.e. cathartic release v. fear of judgment.
I start boldly with full release of explosive secrets splashed boldly across the surface. Then I mask, cut into, edit and morph the words into mark marking and camouflage.
The energy remains consistent though, through the telling, the confessing and finally the cover up. It holds a curiosity of our human nature to share ourselves with others.
